SharePoint 2013 Report Printer

The Report Printer tool is a SharePoint 2013 application that is used to print the current page this is added to. The SharePoint Report Printer adds a “Print”, “Add to Favorites”, and “Close” button to the page. The navigation, Ribbon, and Site Title are all hidden from the page until the user choses to print.

To add the Web Part

  1.  Edit the page
  2. Click “Add a Web Part” in the respective Web Part Zone
  3. Chose the CDC Web Parts category
  4. Select the CDC Print web part
  5. Click “Add” to add the web part to the page

SharePoint Report Printer F.A.Q. 

  • The URL of the page I am currently on keeps printing with my report….
    • This is a setting in your “Page Setup” of the browser. Please modify the Footer section.
  • The Page Numbers keep displaying on my report. How do I remove it when printing?
    • This is a setting in your “Page Setup” of the browser. Please modify the Footer section.
  • I cant seem to be able to print in color.
    • This is a setting in the “Printer Preferences” to print in Grayscale by default. Uncheck this box to print normally.
  • How do i get the SharePoint Ribbon to display on my page with the Print buttons?
    • “Close” the Report Printer web part to disable the custom styling. You can add the web part back by clicking “Add a Web Part” to the page, then scrolling to the “Closed Web Parts” section.
  • How do I get the background colors to display when I print?
    • This is a setting in the “Page Setup” of the browser. Background colors and images are turned off by default for printing.
